Gregory, Jeremy

Jeremy Gregory is a postdoctoral associate in the Materials Systems Laboratory and the Laboratory for Energy and the Environment at MIT. He studies the economic and environmental implications of engineering decisions, particularly in the areas of materials selection and end-of-life materials recovery. Research topics include electronics recycling, characterization of sustainable material systems, and environmental pressures on supply chains.

Kirchain, Randolph

Randolph Kirchain is an Assistant Professor of Materials Science and Engineering Systems at MIT. He conducts research concerning the resource intensity of the materials economies, including the robustness of material recovery infrastructures and instruction of engineers in technology decision making, especially in assessing the economic and environmental consequences of such decisions. Research topics include aluminum scrap sorting methods under uncertain supply and demand conditions, the costs of automotive lightweighting, the economics of optoelectronics manufacturing, and electronics recycling decision-making metrics and models.

Allam, Hossam

Hossam is the Head of ICT for Development Unit at the Centre for Environment and Development for the Arab Region and Europe (CEDARE). CEDARE is an international organization based in Cairo, Egypt. He has a Ph.D degree in Computing from the University of Plymouth, UK, and MSc degree in Computer and Information Science from the University of New Haven, USA. He has a BSc degree in computer and automatic control engineering from Ain Shams University, Egypt. He has more than 14 years of international experience in promoting the use of information and communication technologies (ICT) for sustainable development. He is currently engaged in the promotion of applying safe and economical e-waste management systems for the end-of-life ICT equipments in the North Africa and Middle East countries.
