StEP General Assembly Elects New Steering Committee and Members

From 23-25 May 2012, 52 participants from 30 member organizations participated in the 2012 StEP General Assembly hosted by Philips in Amsterdam (the Netherlands). The General Assembly elected the following new StEP Steering Committee members:

1. Manufacturer/Assembler/Purchaser: Jean Cox-Kearns, Dell
2. Manufacturer/Assembler/Purchaser: Per Döfnäs, Ericsson
3. Recycler/Refurbisher: Christina Meskers, Umicore
4. UN Organization & Affiliated: Smail Alhilali, UNIDO
5. Academia & Research: Rolf Widmer, EMPA
6. Governmental organizations & development cooperation: Stephanie Adrian, US EPA
7. NGO/Not-for-profit-organization: Hossam Allam, CEDARE
8. Ex-Officio Executive Secretary of StEP: Ruediger Kuehr, UNU

In addition, the following new StEP members were approved:
1. Kevoy Community Development Institute (KCDI), St. Thomas, Jamaica
2. Secretariat of the Pacific Regional Environment Programme (SPREP), Apia, Samoa
3. Fecaclubs UNESCO, Yaunde, Cameroon
4. University of Northampton, Northampton, United Kingdom
5. International Telecommunication Union (ITU), Geneva, Switzerland
