Jobs and E-waste

The Step Inititiative - Always stay informed

The projects focuses analysing the potentials for job creation along the e-waste management chain under different framework conditions. It looks into the treatment of any kind of EEE and includes activities in all global regions and along the whole e-waste recycling chain:

  • Collection
  • Transportation
  • Repair
  • Refurbishment
  • Remanufacture
  • manual pre-treatment
  • mechanical pre-treatment
  • end-processing

In order to find suitable data a comprehensive literature review is undertaken, analyzing academic literature, grey literature, government reports as well as experiences from the project members and other StEP members. Additionally, primary data collection will be conducted to verify the findings from the literature review

The target of the project is to acquire funding for a comprehensive project in this area which can support decision making around the job creation potential of different e-waste policies
