- Illegal e-waste shipments to Vietnam and Uzbekistan

Deutsche Umwelthilfe, a German NGO, uncovers scam following investigations on site in Hamburg harbour. Waste electrical and electronic equipment is being shifted to Vietnam and Uzbekistan disguised as goods. Minivans and cars filled with garbage and old refrigerators are being sent chiefly to Africa.
The Hamburg case is another evidence for experiences reported from many other European, Northern American and East Asian harbours.
